I will be painting hummingbirds and more butterflies into the painting once it dries!

“Butterfly Kisses In Charlotte Rhoades Garden” 20×14 oil on copper. Almost finished!

The puppies were doing so well this morning. Poppy looked content. Robert was home.

I decided to drive to Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island to paint in Charlotte Rhoades Garden.  Charlotte Rhoades garden was in it’s prime today. Monarch butterflies were everywhere.

Here is my plein air set up. I use gorilla tape to secure my painting to the 12×16 Open M easel. Wind kicks up here in Maine around 4pm. My painting is always safe!

While I was painting I was clobbered by a monarch butterfly in the face. They were chasing each other through the garden. I just happened to be in their path! I am glad they are light! I enjoyed it. It was like having a real butterfly kiss.

Robert slept next to the puppies last night since they are in his room. He said one little girl puppy cried a lot. She was not happy with something. I suspect she ate too much.

All their little bellies were full this morning. They were quiet and happy.

Lily came in to see the puppies with Monet this morning. Lily licked Poppy on the top of her head first. Then she started to clean puppies with Poppy! Monet just watched.  Poppy was on the left with Lily her daughter on the right cleaning those little puppies!

Poppy seems to enjoy the extra help from Lily. It is truly a family affair!

We are all very relaxed about this litter of puppies. They all seem so content.

What a wonderful family of dogs we have!

After the second puppy was born yesterday I realized I forgot to order puppy Velcro collars. Oh well.

The first few days they scramble all over trying to nurse. I laughed when I saw one puppy upside down with her legs up in the air! They will become lined up and organized after a few days.

I am thankful everyone is healthy and happy! Have a good night!
